Echidna Maquette

3 rolls of heavy-duty aluminum foil (150 square feet) and 4 boxes of super sculpey and still counting!!! LOL Can't wait to finish the Echidna Maquette :-D

Echidna

These are designs for the villian Echidna, which is the Mother of All Monsters in Greek Mythology. In the myth it describes Echidna as having the upper body of a women and the lower body of a serpent. I really wanted something grotesque but also wanted to avoid recreating something that looked like Medusa so this is what came to mind...LOL

More Character Designs

Just finished taking Animation Aesthetics & Practices which might I say was a pretty cool class! It allowed me to better understand my own personal style and what influenced it. To be honest I have discovered my style is a little dark...LOL:-) I would have to say the best part of the class was that I was able to expand on my concept even more and create a pitch bible. These are just a couple character designs I did for it.

MAQUETTES

The finished products! The sculptures I've completed this far. The leprechaun on the end is from the modeling class I took.

This character is a henchman for a character I'm still designing. I was going for an executioner meets rockstar look. Eventually made a maquette of this character that you'll see in a minute. Can't find the colored version of this file but will upload once I do.

In the beginning

Okay guys so I'm uploading everything I've been working on for the last year. I took a modeling class Winter Quarter 2011 and we were required to design and build a maquette of a character before we created the digital version in Maya. Have to say I have become addicted to character designing and maquette building after that class! Above is a character for a series I've been thinking about ever since my undergrad! I decided it was time to sit down and start putting my ideas on paper. Let me know what you guys think :-)

Greetings Guys!

So it's about time I started posting my work online. Unfortunately my portfolio website was disabled sometime ago for lack of use:-( So I felt that a blogspot would be a quicker way to get my stuff out there until I find the time to rebuild my site. I welcome any advice and constructive criticism anyone can give :-)
